We are an environmental rights NGO championing conservation of Bukit Kiara, one of KL’s remaining urban green lung of substantial size.

We seek to build a widely-felt sense of identity & ownership to form a community bulwark against unwanted development.

While it not possible to name every individual who has contributed to the protection of Bukit Kiara, we remember the first interim Chairperson of the original loose coalition that formed Friends of Bukit Kiara, the late Mr Liew Khooi Cheng. He was instrumental in raising alarm of the imminent destruction of Bukit Kiara and focusing community action for gazettement of the green lung for over a decade, from 2001 to 2013.

FoBK was officially registered in 2014 and Tan Sri Dr. Salleh Mohd Nor served as the first president playing a key role in consolidating the NGO and forging towards sustainable action. Throughout our journey, the TTDI Residents’ Association has proven to be a strong and loyal ally as we work concurrently towards protection of the park together.
